The Story of JetSetGo Propelling the Wings of Change at Wings India 2024

The air crackled with possibility as India’s aviation titans and innovators alike gathered at Wings India 2024 in Hyderabad.

It was a stage bathed in the golden glow of ambition, where JetSetGo’s engines roared in harmony with the collective heartbeat of an industry in ascendance.

This wasn’t just a conference or an exhibition of giant futuristic machines; it was a launchpad, propelling visionaries, entrepreneurs, and changemakers towards an economic and business horizon brimming with endless possibilities.

From Vision to Takeoff: All That Wings India 2024 Was About

“Today, India is the third largest domestic civil aviation market in the world, the seventh largest international civil aviation market in the world and if you combine both then we are the fifth largest civil aviation market in the world.” – Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Civil Aviation Minister.

As the nation’s economy takes flight, the civil aviation sector stands tall as a key driver of this upward trajectory. This momentum is fuelled by the industry’s projected growth from $10.89 billion in 2023 to a staggering $12.55 billion by 2028, reflecting a CAGR of 2.87% – a clear indicator of the promising skies ahead.

Building upon this exciting surge in air passenger and cargo growth, Wings India 2024 served as a powerful launchpad for industry trailblazers seeking an international platform to introduce new ideas, technologies, and aircraft to the world.

This electrifying energy witnessed at the Wings India 2024 wasn’t just a one-time event, but the latest chapter in the rich history of Indian aviation taking flight. A journey that began in 2007 to highlight India’s potential to soar.

Since then, each edition witnessed milestones, but what sets Wings India 2024 apart is the confidence it showcased for the future of civil aviation, a future when India will ascend as an aviation powerhouse by 2030, as envisioned by Minister Scindia.

While the vision ignited excitement, it wasn’t merely wishful thinking, rather the confidence stemmed from tangible realities and new initiatives shaping the Indian aviation landscape.

JetSetGo Propelling the Wings of Change

Remember when Google Earth and Street View launched in 2005 and 2007, respectively, the ability to explore the world virtually and navigate unfamiliar streets remotely? Something that had seemed like a futuristic dream before that?

Google’s ambitious vision and investment in satellite imagery, data mapping, and user interface design turned this dream into reality, forever changing how we interact with the planet.

India’s evolving aviation landscape needed a thrust exactly like that and JetSetGo is one of the visionaries to shape its role as a driver of innovation and a contributor to Indian aviation’s growth trajectory.

“The enthusiasm and ideas showcased at today’s conference reaffirms our belief – India has the energy and the building blocks to become the world’s leader in Advanced Air Mobility solutions tailored for developing economies. JetSetGo will strive to play the role of an accelerant by leading the discussion and debate in India, pioneering the application of cutting-edge global technologies, and engaging local stakeholders in a collaborative effort to make Advanced Air Mobility a reality.” – Kanika Tekriwal, Founder & CEO, JetSetGo.

Underscoring the imperative for new technologies to propel growth and innovation JetSetGo took the pioneering step of signing agreements with a deal value of over $1.3 Billion with, not just one, but three aviation technology companies – Electra.aero, Horizon Aircraft, and Overair.

The Transformative Impact of This Dynamic Partnership

Did you know a 2021 World Bank report revealed a stark reality: India’s logistics sector ranks 44th globally, with inefficiencies costing our economy an estimated 14% of GDP?

We see it every day – congested roads, slow commutes, and a transportation system struggling to keep pace with our aspirations.

But instead of accepting a status quo, imagine a different future as JetSetGo envisions with Advance Air Mobility (AAM) connecting our regions and cities for fast, efficient and affordable travel in the air. It’s a vision born from innovation and designed to address the very real challenges in our transportation systems.

AAM addresses the very issues hindering our current system:

  • Congestion Woes: Imagine elevated pathways or aerial routes freeing our roads, ensuring smoother journeys for everyone. AAM’s unique approach can significantly improve journey times in and between cities, avoiding the endemic road traffic congestion, leading to faster commutes and improved quality of life.
  • Time Warp Travel: Imagine zipping across the city in a fraction of the time. AAM promises increased travel speeds, empowering individuals and businesses with valuable time saved. This means more time for loved ones, increased productivity, and a better work-life balance, all fueling economic growth.
  • Sustainable Future: AAM isn’t just about convenience; it’s about responsibility. Many AAM solutions prioritize environmentally friendly technologies, like electric power and reduced or no emissions, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future for India and for the aviation industry.

AAM isn’t really about flying cars, but a much more robust transportation system that blends the benefits of helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, and utilises revolutionary new powertrain technologies using electric motors for quiet, efficient and low or no emission flight.

Our three chosen partners on this journey offer three different takes on how these new technologies can be applied to the small air taxi aircraft of the future:

  • Horizon’s Cavorite X7 electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) a hybrid-powered aircraft that needs no expensive charging support equipment across the travel network. Using a unique advanced lift system, it is a machine designed for both regional connectivity and urban air mobility, in all environments and all weathers.
  • Electra’s ‘Blown-Lift’ Aircraft a hybrid-electric Short Take-off and Landing (eSTOL) with unique ability to operate from soccer field-sized spaces by way of it’s unique ‘blown lift’ technology, and the capacity to transport nine passengers up to 800 kilometres.
  • Overair’s Butterfly, a fully electric-powered eVTOL design pioneering highly efficient rotor technology, the Butterfly will provide safe, quiet, and efficient mobility solutions for urban air mobility and commuter services, whilst being emission-free and super quiet..

JetSetGo’s Mission Accomplished at Wings India 2024 – It’s a Wrap!

“I am very excited about the partnerships we are building today and the scale of the vision these agreements represent. India’s geography and demographics make it an ideal launch market for AAM. Our partnership with these three leading innovators will introduce unique technologies like ‘blown lift’ and ‘fan-in-wing’ lift systems, hybrid and electric propulsion, and super-quiet optimal speed tilt rotors to India. We want to lead the transformation of urban and regional connectivity and believe we have the right partners and technologies to make this vision a reality. The scale of the agreements we’ve signed this week emphasise the scale of our ambition and belief in these new technologies” – Kanika Tekriwal, Founder & CEO, JetSetGo.

Meeting the expectations of today’s aspirational India requires Indian companies to be visionary, take bold decisions, and prioritize seamless collaboration with technology leaders and fellow innovators.

Matching the power of new aviation technologies with the need for regional and urban air mobility demands effective collaboration, partnerships, and knowledge sharing across all stakeholders in the new transport ecosystems we plan to build.

JetSetGo believes India has the energy and the building blocks to become the world’s leader in AAM solutions tailored for developing economies. We will strive to play the role of an accelerant by leading the discussion and debate in India, pioneering the application of cutting-edge global technologies, and engaging local stakeholders in a collaborative effort to make Advanced Air Mobility a reality.

And, Wings India 2024 provided the perfect runway for us to take off on our mission to revolutionize Indian aviation!
