Eve Air Mobility, an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) manufacturer, has released several updates to its aircraft design.

As an option, the wheeled landing gear now has optional lightweight skids to increase manoeuvrability and minimise energy consumption during taxi. The wings have also been updated, spanning 15 metres and featuring a single actuator and aileron per side, without flaps.

The fixed-pitch lifters and pusher are combined with a four-blade design that enables the lifter rotor blades to align with the pylons autonomously to reduce drag during cruise, and the intuitive cockpit has been developed with Garmin and Crouzet, with only a four axis sidestick for reduced workload.

Finally, the cabin interior now has a full-flex design, enabling conversion between a four-passenger configuration, or a cargo configuration.

“At Eve, we’re not aiming to be first to certification, our true objective is to provide the best solution for our customers,” said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility. “Our rigorous test program isn’t about rushing to deadlines—it’s about methodical precision that ultimately accelerates our certification path. By taking deliberate steps now, we’re building a foundation for flawless execution to propel us forward with greater momentum and confidence when it matters most.”

Flight tests for Eve’s eVTOL are expected to commence in summer 2025 and continue into 2026 with five to six conforming prototypes.
