The ePlane Company to use solutions from HENSOLDT avionics in its eVTOL aircrafts

Through the partnership the company will integrate HENSOLDT’s advanced avionics suite, into its e200x series of aircrafts improving its safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency in dense urban environments.

The ePlane Company, an electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has announced a partnership with Germany- based HENSOLDT Avionics, to use the latter’s sensor solutions and mission management electronics for its eVTOL aircrafts.

Through the partnership the company will integrate HENSOLDT’s advanced avionics suite, into its e200x series of aircrafts improving its safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency in dense urban environments.

HENSOLDT’s suite of avionics will serve as the ‘eyes and ears of the e200x’ ensuring highest levels of safety and operational efficiency in urban airspace, advanced situational awareness and seamless connectivity, the company said in a media release. 

Avionics solutions

Some of the avionics solutions that HENSOLDT will supply include EuroNav 7 Next Gen that will help the aircraft navigates complex cityscapes, CaviSigh which will help in rooftop helipad landing, RF1 Smart Antenna, a traffic awareness and collision avoidance system  and CaviConnect which helps in a secure datalink between the aircraft and ground stations
