Eve Air Mobility has carried out a demonstration flight of its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) prototype for government representatives in Brazil at a test facility operated by Embraer.

The flight took place in Gavião Peixoto and was attended by senior officials, including Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, alongside ministers and regulators involved in aviation, infrastructure and technology.

The demonstration forms part of the company’s ongoing flight test campaign, which is intended to support the certification process for its eVTOL aircraft. Since its first flight in December 2025, the prototype has completed 35 test flights, accumulating approximately 1.5 hours of flight time. During these tests, the aircraft has reached an altitude of around 43 metres and carried out controlled manoeuvres involving multiple axes.

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve said:

We are advancing with discipline and consistency in our flight test campaign, reducing risk and building the foundation for future certification flights. The results achieved in these first months following our initial flight in December 2025 reinforce our confidence in the aircraft’s architecture and our ability to deliver a safe, efficient and scalable solution for the urban air mobility market.

Initial test data indicates that the aircraft’s propulsion and battery systems are performing above early projections, while measured noise levels remain below those typically associated with conventional helicopters. Early-stage flights have focused on low-speed operations of up to 15 knots, allowing engineers to assess control systems, rotor aerodynamics and thermal performance.

Further testing will expand the aircraft’s operational range, including higher speeds and broader flight conditions. Ground-based testing and sensor calibration have also been undertaken to support the programme.

Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer said:

Embraer has over five decades of proven expertise in aircraft development and certification. Applying this knowledge to Eve’s program reinforces our commitment to innovation and the future of sustainable aviation. We see significant potential in the global urban air mobility market and believe Eve is well positioned to be a leader in this industry.

Certification of the aircraft remains subject to regulatory approval and the completion of technical milestones, including oversight by Brazil’s aviation authority.
